In accordance with the Decree of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan of September 14, 2018, the Republican State Enterprise on the Right of Economic Management "Republican Center for Prevention and Control of AIDS" of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republican State Enterprise on the Right of Economic Management The Ministries of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan have been reorganized in the manner prescribed by law through a merger into Res Public state enterprise on the right of economic management "Kazakh Scientific Center of Dermatology and Infectious Diseases" of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan with the introduction of the supervisory board.

The Pavlodar AIDS Center hosted a training session for medical workers on rapid HIV testing. M. Temirgalina, a physician-laborator at the AIDS Center, presented material on the requirements for rapid testing. The doctor noted that biosafety means taking measures to protect the health care worker and patient from infection, accidental contact with blood, or damage.
On March 16, 2023, Aigerim Sultanova, a specialist in the prevention department of the Almaty Regional AIDS Center, together with narcologists, gynecologists and valeologists of the Talgar district hospital, held a round table on the topic “Prevention of HIV infection among young people”.
On March 15, in Almaty, employees of state (CNDDIZ, regional AIDS centers), international, non-governmental public organizations, members of the CCM, representatives of key groups discussed the grant application for the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria from the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2024-2026.

What is HIV?HIV – human immunodeficiency virus. When injected into the human body, HIV destroys the immune system, which protects us from disease and infection. The human immunodeficiency virus belongs to the family of retroviruses (Retroviridae), the genus of lentiviruses (Lentivirus). Name Lentivirus comes from the Latin word lente – slow. This name reflects one of the characteristics of the viruses of this group, namely the slow and uneven rate of development of infectious process in the host. Lentiviruses are characterized by a long incubation period.
What is AIDS?AIDS – acquired immune deficiency syndrome, last, end-stage disease, the result of the destruction of a significant part of the human immune system. HIV can weaken the immune system to a specific state, when the body starts to develop so-called opportunistic diseases. The diagnosis AIDS is usually made some years later after HIV infection, when at the person one or several very serious diseases to which leads the progressing weakening of immune system owing to corrupting of CD4+ of lymphocytes develop. The current antiretroviral therapy reduces the activity of the virus and reduce the harm it causes to the immune system, preventing, thus, the development and transition of HIV into AIDS.
