On November 15, the campaign "HIV: Hear Everyone" starts in Almaty

The campaign dedicated to World AIDS Day is being held all over the world, in Kazakhstan it will be held from 15 to 25 November under the motto “HIV: Hear Everyone”.

 It has been forty years since the first AIDS cases were reported, but HIV is still a global threat. On this World AIDS Day, UNAIDS is calling not only to end the AIDS epidemic, but also to protect the rights of key populations, people living with HIV, to improve the fight against COVID-19 and to ensure economic recovery and sustainability.

`` Eradicating stigma and discrimination against people living with HIV, providing all those in need with the necessary medicines and services, using approaches based on human rights and gender equality are the main conditions for ending the HIV and COVID-19 pandemics, '' says the head physician of the Center for prevention and control of AIDS in Almaty Marat Tukeyev.Among the partners of the AIDS Center for the World Campaign are Akimat, Public Health Department, Education Department of Almaty, Department of Internal Affairs, KUIS, international, public nongovernmental and other organizations.As of November 1, 2021, 3824 PLHIV are registered at the AIDS Center in Almaty. In recent years, there has been a tendency for the growth of sexual transmission. For ten months of 2021, the sexual route accounts for 79.3% of new cases of HIV infection, 15.2% - for the parenteral route with the factor of intravenous drug use.
